Participation House Brantford is holding a Job Fair for all PSWs or college-educated candidates willing to train as a PSW. We will provide the education/training you need to enter this profession, or bridge your current qualifications.

Whether working at our Bell Lane location, in our Supportive Housing program, or in the community, our employees aim to ensure the best possible quality of life by promoting inclusion and participation in community, aiding in the achievement of personal goals, and advocating for those supported.

Visit our Job Fair on November 29, 2017 from 9:00am – 11:00am or 1:00pm – 3:00pm, at our 10 Bell Lane location if you possess the following:

  • An ability to work co-operatively as a member of a team, as well as independently.
  • A good attendance record
  • An ability to problem solve
  • Flexibility, with experience or willingness to support or advocate for individuals with disabilities, or complex care needs.
  • Previous experience working in a supportive housing setting considered an asset
  • As this is a 24-hour setting, the ability to work shifts and weekends is required

Qualifications:

  • Must have or be willing to obtain a:
    • Developmental Services and/or PSW Certificate
    • Current First Aid and CPR certificate
    • Current Vulnerable Sector/Police Check
  • Valid class G Driver’s License and excellent driving record

Outreach Support Care Staff

Position Type: Full Time – Permanent
Availability: Day, Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift

Position Description:
Full Time and Part Time – All Shifts
in anticipation of an impending expansion of community care services Participation House Brantford is seeking qualified and credentialed Personal Support Workers to submit their resumes and a letter indicating the following of which you would like to work:

  • Hours of the day/night
  • Days of the week
  • Total number of hours in a week available to work

Job Purpose:

To assist with activities of daily living, including personal care, meals and light housekeeping while meeting specific individual needs.  These activities will take place in a supportive housing setting in the community.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirement:

  • 2 year college diploma in Health/Social Services
  • Current CPR and First Aid Training certificate
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle
  • Current Vulnerable Sector/Police Check
  • Medication training

Resident Care Counselor

Position Type: Part Time, on call
Availability: Day, Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift
Experience: 1 – 3 years required

Position Description:

Working at the 10 Bell Lane location in a team setting to provide care and support for individuals with complex health needs.  To ensure the best possible quality of life by promoting inclusion and participation in community, aiding in the achievement of personal goals and advocating for those supported.

  • Working in a team with other Counselors to provide care
  • Personal care such as bathing, feeding, dressing and toileting
  • Cleaning equipment such as wheelchairs, commode chairs, bedpans, etc
  • Provide appropriate documentation and information regarding individuals on an ongoing basis
  • Medication administration and documentation as per organizational policy
  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal care, bathing, feeding, dressing and toileting
  • Provide a high standard of care which recognizes the rights of individuals supported, promote their dignity and over all well being physically and emotionally

Qualifications:

  • Must have Developmental Services and/or PSW Certificate
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate

  • 1 -2 Year related experience
  • Valid class G Driver’s License and excellent driving record
