Thanks to all the volunteers at Dulux Paint who helped paint Participation Houses’ halls!
Participation House Brantford was honoured to have Dulux Paints come to their facility on November 19th, with paint cans in hand, as part of the Colourful Communities program. Joshua and Jason went Behind the Scene to learn more.
Colourful Communities is a worldwide event developed by Dulux Paints’ parent company PPG Architectural Coatings Canada Inc. Every year the company opens online applications to have a team of volunteers visit and paint a local business or organization. Today at Participation House, Ten Dulux Paint employees, volunteers, and staff from Participation House began painting the 6,500 square feet area and will coat the walls with nearly 50 gallons of donated paint. They began at 9:30 a.m. and expect to be done by 5:00 p.m. this evening.
“I’m a local guy and we have a local store. I said yes and we are here.”
Mark Squires – Dulux Paints
Volunteers were thrilled to be able to give back to the community, and they were working hard the entire time. In fact, we had to insist they take a break for the opportunity to get our photo. It is always amazing to see volunteers in action and everyone should be inspired to give back to the community in their own way.
“It’s a big building and it’s hard to keep brick looking nice. It’s terrific to get this freshened up; all at once. It means a whole new look for us, being bright and fresh again.”
Sherry Kerr – Executive Director Participation House
